An illustrative conceptual promotional animation of Walt Disney’s Destination D23. An event that showcase the new and exciting ideas coming to Disney within all aspects of entertainment.
With these designs I sought to send the viewer on journey that goes 20,000 leges under the sea to up in the skies and finally to the stars beyond. Incorporating a visual style that has both bright colors and brings that sense of magic we all know Disney for. All while promoting the event, encouraging people to come.

At the time of this project Disney had all ready posted a single illustrative poster that I used as an outline. When developing the project I knew I wanted to have the audience travel to different environments where they would see characters or objects that represented beloved Disney movies. With this in mind I narrowed my locations down to the sea, the sky and space. From there I began researching what characters would best fit each area.
With this project I also wanted to challenge myself to use a limited color palette, which was interesting when it came to designing the characters. I had to think creatively, putting my knowledge of value and shade to use. Paying attention to lights and darks of the character and then matching a color from my palette.
